Every painting tells a story.

Amanda Groves paints from her home in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, painting mostly from life: market flowers, the fruit bowl, a shoreline she keeps returning to. Each canvas is built fast and wet-into-wet, so the first decision usually stays visible in the finished work.

Her palette is unapologetic — coral against deep indigo, sea greens, a raw white ground left breathing at the edges. The paintings are meant to hold a room rather than blend into it.

Work is sold directly to collectors, without a gallery in between. That means you can ask anything before you buy: how a color reads in evening light, whether a piece suits a particular wall, how it will be mounted and shipped.

Acrylic, oil, and oil pastels on stretched linen and birch panel; archival varnish.

Shipping and handling quoted separately. Mounting hardware and a certificate of authenticity are included with every piece.

A handful each year, six to twelve weeks from approval.
